Brand story

The Sourceira symbol – a leaf within a circle – represents vitality, balance, and a source of Health Intelligence. The leaf refers to the so-called Eir flower – a white medicinal flower that, in some interpretations of Old Norse folklore, is associated with Eir, healing, and the restoration of health. The name Eir means “mercy”, “gentleness”, or “help”. It is also the name of the goddess of healing and medical skill, who is described in Old Norse sources as “the best physician”.

In the Old Icelandic poem “Fjölsvinnsmál”, Eir is mentioned at Lyfjaberg – the “Mountain of Healing”, which offers healing and relief to the sick and injured. By climbing this mountain, one may regain health even after a prolonged illness.

In other sources, Eir’s name also appears among the Valkyries – supernatural beings associated with Odin and the fate of warriors on the battlefield. Traditionally, the Valkyries chose those who fell in battle and brought the chosen warriors to Valhalla. As Eir is also described as an exceptional healer, later interpretations have given her a distinctive role – helping the wounded who are destined to survive and recover.

Sourceira’s solutions are designed to strengthen health literacy – helping people better understand their health, recognize risks, and make more informed decisions. Symbolically, Sourceira helps everyone who wants to improve their health take their own step up the “Mountain of Healing”.
